Local SEO in McKinney means ranking from the courthouse square out to the US-380 corridor, where Princeton, Melissa and Anna were three of the five fastest-growing US cities from 2024 to 2025. I set up your Google profile, citations, area pages and reviews so you show up where McKinney is growing, from $600.
The Old Collin County Courthouse, finished in 1875 and dedicated in 1876, is the centerpiece of the Downtown McKinney Commercial Historic District and has housed the McKinney Performing Arts Center since 2006. Shops, restaurants and offices near the square rank best for searches made close by, so their hours, photos and categories have to be spotless.
SH-5 runs north out of downtown to Melissa and Anna, US-75 heads the same way, and US-380 runs east toward Princeton. SH-121 runs along the Allen border. A service-area business based in McKinney can reach all of it, and the towns along those roads are filling up fast.
Census Bureau estimates for 2024 to 2025, cities of 20,000 or more. This is why a McKinney service area is a real decision, not a formality.
| Town | Growth, 2024 to 2025 | US rank | 2025 population | From McKinney |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Celina | 24.6% | 1st | 64,427 | Northwest, past Prosper |
| Princeton | 18.1% | 3rd | 43,524 | East on US-380 |
| Melissa | 14.5% | 4th | 29,969 | North on SH-5 or US-75 |
| Anna | 10.2% | 5th | 35,245 | North past Melissa |
Google allows up to 20 service areas, within about two hours of driving. All four fit. The limit is your crew's time, not Google.
Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence. McKinney adds two twists: big employers, and fast-growing towns to the north and east.
A plumber based near Craig Ranch shows up more easily in southwest McKinney than in Princeton, even with both on the service-area list. Area pages and reviews from Princeton jobs help close that gap.
Raytheon, Collin County, Globe Life, Encore Wire, Medical City McKinney and Baylor Scott & White McKinney are among the largest employers. Commercial service companies need pages written for facility managers, not homeowners.
A review that says 'replaced our water heater in Melissa' tells the next Melissa customer you go there. Send the review link the day the job is done, and reply to every one.
This is my local SEO for service businesses, set up for McKinney and the towns around it.
Categories, services, photos and hours. If customers don't visit you, the address is hidden and the service areas list McKinney plus the towns you really work.
Identical details on Apple Maps, Bing, BBB and Yelp, plus the McKinney, Melissa, Princeton or Anna chamber directories you belong to. Then pages for your services and busiest towns.
A review routine you can keep up with, and a plain monthly Search Console report if you stay on a retainer.
Setup is one fee: profile, service areas, citations, your first pages and a review link.
Monthly retainers are optional, from $300 a month for content only, or $550 a month with link outreach. No one can guarantee links or rankings, and I won't pretend to.

If you take jobs there, yes. All three were in the top five fastest-growing US cities from 2024 to 2025, per the Census Bureau. Add each as its own service area, then give the ones you work most a page with real jobs from there.
Yes. Google lists accurate hours, including special hours, among its tips for local ranking. If you close early for a downtown event or a holiday, set special hours for that day, so the profile doesn't send someone to a locked door on the square.
Google doesn't say the words in a review are a ranking factor. It does say the number of reviews counts toward prominence. What a review that names the town and the job does for sure is show the next Melissa or Anna customer that you go there. Ask customers to say what you did, but don't script it.
It helps most for searches made near the square. Google ranks on relevance, distance and prominence, so a downtown address won't carry you into Princeton or Celina searches on its own. Reviews and area pages do the work further out.
Ask everyone, the same way, after the job. Google bans paying or discounting for reviews and bans asking only the happy customers. A short link by text the same day works, and a reply to every review shows you read them.
