Migration

Move from Wix or Squarespace to WordPress

Moving from Wix or Squarespace to WordPress means rebuilding your site on a platform you own. I rebuild your pages on WordPress, move your content, and redirect every old URL so your Google traffic follows you. You end up with a site you can take to any host.

The problem

Why businesses outgrow website builders

01

You’re renting, not owning

Wix has no way to export your site to another platform, and Squarespace’s export only covers part of your content. Leaving means rebuilding.

02

Costs creep up

Plan upgrades and paid apps add up year after year. My WordPress vs website builders comparison runs the five-year numbers.

03

You hit the ceiling

Less control over speed, technical SEO and custom features as the business grows.

FAQ

Common questions

Will I lose my Google rankings?

Some movement in the first few weeks is normal. Keeping your content and redirecting every URL keeps it small, and I watch Search Console for 30 days after launch.

Do I keep my domain?

Yes. Your domain stays yours, and it simply points to the new site.

Can my blog posts come with me?

Yes. Posts and images move over to WordPress.

How long does it take?

Usually 2 to 4 weeks, depending on how many pages you have.

What about my Wix store?

For online stores, Shopify is often the better move. I’ll quote it separately.

Who looks after the site afterwards?

You can, or I can on a care plan from $39 a month.
