Web design for Texas small businesses

I'm a web designer based in Dallas, building websites for Texas service businesses: plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, contractors and other local trades. Every site is built for how Texas customers search, on a phone and often in Spanish, and shows the license details Texas rules expect. One fixed quote, no hourly billing.

What Texas sites need

Three things I build into every Texas service site

A generic template ignores these. Texas customers and Texas regulators don't.

Your license number where customers see it

Texas plumbing companies must show the master plumber's license number in their advertising (22 TAC §367.10), and HVAC companies must show their ACR license number (16 TAC §75.71). Electrical contractors put their TECL number on trucks and invoices. I add your number to the footer and contact page so the site matches your trucks and paperwork.

Fast on a phone

When an AC unit quits in a Texas August, the customer is searching on a phone and calls the first business that loads fast and looks legit. Click-to-call at the top of every page.

How it works

I design and build the site, you review it, and it goes live on your domain.

Simple service sites from $1,200

$1,200 to $2,500

That's a 5 to 6 page site, the usual for a plumber, electrician or contractor. One fixed quote after a 15-minute call, no hourly billing.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Dat Design Lab based in Texas?

Yes. Dat Design Lab is based in Dallas, TX. Projects run over video calls and a shared project board, so where you are in Texas doesn't change anything.

Do I have to show my license number on my website?

Texas rules require plumbing companies (22 TAC §367.10) and HVAC companies (16 TAC §75.71) to include the license number in their advertising. The rules don't name websites specifically, but a website advertises your services, so I add the number to every site I build. For your exact situation, check with TDLR (HVAC and electrical) or TSBPE (plumbing). I'm a web designer, not a lawyer.

Do I need a Spanish version of my site?

Not always. It's worth it when a real share of your customers would rather read in Spanish, which in many parts of Texas they do. You can start with the homepage and your main service pages and add more later.

How much does a website cost?

A simple 5 to 6 page service site is $1,200 to $2,500. A single landing page is $800 to $1,200. You get one fixed quote after a short call. The cost calculator shows the full ranges.

Do you do local SEO as well?

Yes. Local SEO setup starts at $600 and covers your Google Business Profile, service area pages, citations and a review link. See local SEO for service businesses.
